Unite Christmas Appeal

The Covid crisis has resulted with thousands of Unite members losing their jobs and many are now relying on a completely inadequate social security system.

The union is determined to do all it can to help and has launched a Christmas Appeal to help support members facing financial difficulties and is seeking support from all branches across the union.

We are delighted that our branch, NE/407/12 is taking part in this appeal this year. We’re asking our members to help families who are struggling this Christmas by donating food (non perishables), men’s toiletries, new toys, children’s coats and shoes in good, clean condition and gift cards for supermarkets.

Our colleagues at all three Travis Perkins sites are supporting this campaign and there are boxes to leave your donations in the canteen area in Middlesbrough and Hartlepool and where you collect your gear in Stockton. There will also be a box for donations in the entrance of the Community Centre at Primrose Hill on Appleton Road in Stockton.

If you are struggling to get to one of the donation points please contact your Shop Stewards who will come to collect anything you are able to give.

We will collect donations the week before Christmas and we will divide them between Foodbanks in Stockton (Hebron Hall, Wrensfield) Hartlepool (Church Street), Middlesbrough(Skippers Lane) and Billingham. If you know of any individual or family who is struggling this Christmas and would benefit from anything please contact your Shop Stewards.

Thank you for your support, lets do what we can together to help those in need in our communities this Christmas.
